I am traveling to my prospective college to meet with a financial aid counselor, what should I expect?
Can I help negotiate of an officer? Sort of like buying a car? It is an extremely expensive school can not and do not even want to pay. I wannna go to this school more than anythinng .... Is just a lot of money.
I turn first to the last part of your question. "It's a very expensive school that I can not and do not even want to pay." OK, well, then just do not go! What are you doing going to a school you say you can not afford and do not even want to go too? No one can force you to do something you do not want to do! Just do not. Do something you can actually find enjoyment and satisfaction. Life is a project at once, you get a shot at him so why do you want to be miserable, while you're here? Now the first part of your question: No, you can not negotiate with official aid financial. There are certain programs such as scholarships and student loans and other such programs designed to help those who wish to work towards and achieve higher education. If not eligible, just not quality. There are certian rules to follow to decide who is eligible for what. In general, many types of subsidies are determined by income levels. If you exceed the levels that do not qualify. That income level also determines the amount of subsidy they receive. The revenue minus more grant money, but only to a certain level. Grants do not pay all the cost of going to college, especially in expensive schools. Now if you were to be awarded a full scholarship, which is a differant story. There are several differant types of scholarships with differant types of expectations that must be met in order to keep them. Academic scholarships will need to maintian a high GPA and also perhaps some other activity. Athletic scholarships require to practice this sport in who won the scholarhship and maintain a certain grade point average, usually a C. If it loses and has to leave school unless he can pay for it yourself. If I could would not have needed a scholarship. So, first of all not to make life miserable for doing something you really do not want. Second, do not go to the meeting thinking that is in control of anything because they are not. The financial aid officer to do a favor that assists in financing their education. Maybe you're just not ready for college, however, are immature and need to play around until you're ready to get down to business LFE life as an adult. If this is the case, do not waste anybodies time he loves you. If you go to sabatoge the good one is trying to provide just do not. You're going to do and those who love you a favor by telling the truth about how you feel. Course can be altered for a while and maybe even disappointed. But this is your life and your journey, so that you you who has to decide exactly what you want when you want to work for him. Just remember that there are no free rides in this life and may have regretts by the road not took advantage of his younger years to achieve an education. I have raised eight children and I want to be happy, whatever that will bring happiness. Some have taken the College Road and other roads differant.
