Travel Agency Miami Beach

any help with our vacation?
ok, so this summer my husband and I are planning on going on vacation, we are either going on a cruise, but we are really considering going to florida and staying on the beach at resort or a condo. in miami maybe? but what i would like to know, would you suggest a cruise or staying in florida?
and a resort or a condo?
also, we have no travel agencies where we live, how do we go about planning the trip and activities during our stay? we've looked on priceline, expedia, and hotels.com but I'm not really sure what we are looking for lol thanks
any advice is appriciated. we're 21, and this is going to be our first big vacation alone(without our parents lol)
also, how necessary would it be to rent a car? would it be better to take a cab and walk everywhere?
I have been to Florida many times; I also hate cruises! A cruise is just a big water park.. With tons of food, about 5 whole decks of buffets. I can do that at any great america and just stop at a hilton the next day for a fraction of the price. Florida is funnier. I have a house/ condo on a island next to Miami. You don't need to go to a small island, but we rented a nice condo near disney world.. Im assuming this isn't your preferred destination. A nice beach though is Clearwater, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Key West/ Largo, Boca Raton. If you go to Palm Beach, stay away from the west side, chances are you may get shot(This is from past experience, we were there and the island was closed due to a shooting). Great SCUBA places too.
As for condos and hotels. If you guys plan to go down there for more then a week, i suggest a renting a condo. There are plenty of hotels on the beach. If you go anywhere, especially Miami, do not stay in any hotel that is under 75$ a night, unless you check it out first. Chances are you will end up in a body bag in the morning(also long experience with cockroaches).. Any Holiday Inn is great. You may also be paying a difference of up to $100 if you choose 5 minutes from beach or right on the beach. So if you guys are going for a week or week and a half, you could stay in a moderately priced hotel. Otherwise stay in a condo. Just research condos. Make sure to read throughly though. If you really want it to be easy, stay in Marriot suites, Holiday Inn extended stay, etc. .
You don't need a travel guide, just do some research on your preferred destination and check around. Southwest is your best bet for airlines, unless you drive. Which is sometimes the same price as flying. Make sure to plan, plan, plan! Plan your trip before you get down there. Make sure you know what you guys are going to do and stay.
Other wise good luck, any other questions just email. Joe24681@yahoo
