2). A car is traveling with a constant speed when the driver suddenly applies the brakes giving the car a deceleration of 4 m/s^2. If re car. Comes to a stop in a distance of 40 meters. What was re cars original speed?
zee_prim... gave you good input on #1. On 2, it could have been more complete.
2) The complete formula is
Vf^2 = Vo^2 + 2*a*s
where Vf = 0, Vo = the original speed, a = 4 m/s^2, and s = 40 m. The a will come out negative meaning it's really deceleration.
