Travel Conditions
Is it okay to travel to Manila? What are the conditions after Ondoy? What is it like over there?
This question is for Manila citizens. I booked a flight 4 months in advance to fly to Manila on Oct. 4. According to Philippine Airlines, I can reschedule a flight with no penalty. I will be staying in Ermita, Manila and Makati. What is it like over there right now? Is it a really bad time to be there on vacation? Is it safe? Thanks.
Manila is a disaster area with 400,000 people living in emergency shelters. The electricity is out, roads are blocked with debris, clean drinking water is in short supply, and another storm is coming on Friday.
