Travel Distance Between Cities Canada

How can we bring Canadians more together?
I've noticed that the majority of Vancouverites and Torontonians don't really have many strong connections, if any at all.
I've lived in both cities, and usually I find ignorance between Canadians. We simply don't know enough about each other.
It's almost to the point that Americans know more about themselves than Canadians do about themselves. That can't be right!
My idea is to foster travel within Canada amongst youth. Something more than just going somewhere on holiday. We need to make real connections that last.
The physical distances are very far. We need to bridge the gaps.
I've met more than a few Torontonians who think that the Rockies are visible from Vancouver. That's just plain stupid.
I know many Vancouverites who have never even know what I'm talking about when I mention having the pleasure of a morning at Green Gables, a lobster lunch, and an afternoon at the beach in P.E.I. That's just simply missing out on life.
I'm thinking bullet train.
Well, you can create a camp for the Canadian children or create a company that offer tours to each city. Sports are another way which builds bridges in the communities and encourages people to follow their teams.
