Travel Distances And Times Australia
Traveling with a month of 13 years, what should I do?
Hi I am traveling abroad soon with my husband and baby who will be 13 months old when travel. Is 14 and a half hour flight to lead Australia. Do any of a long-distance travel with a baby, you could give me some advice on what to take conveninence with me is my first time traveling with our son. Thank your ideas will be appreciated.
I've been flying internationally with my children since they were 2 months (now 7 and 5), and here are some tips that have always worked for me: FAA regulations currently allow children under two to fly as free as "lap children" (no need to have their own seat). If you're flying internationally, the airline may charge you (I say this because could not all do) a rate of 10-20%. The waiter / waitress should be placed in a front seat where you will have more space. Most airlines will provide a special seat belt chair that hooks to you so that your child may be the seat belt too. And depending on airline and duration of flight, the waiter / waitress can give you a crib type thing that attaches to the front wall to put your child in (however this can not be used during takeoff and landing). This is not the safest way for a child to fly and the airlines recommend children have their own seat with a device child safety, but not mandate it because of the cost to parents. 1.) I advise using a CRS (Child Restraint System) because it is safe for children - Especially during turbulence, makes them feel safe, it is more convenient for parents and children, and given the opportunity to relax a little. The SRC is an alternative aircraft approved the use of a hard-backed seat and is approved for use in aircraft and for use in motor vehicles. Many people confuse it with a regular seat, which it is not. Parents should call their airline to ask for a discount and / or ask for is the airline's policy is for using empty seats. Ask your airline if you can provide a CRS for your child. If so, you can not afford to bring your own CRS on board, and may have to do as baggage. http://www.faa.gov/passengers/fly_children/crs/ 2.) For takeoffs and landings the best you can do is if your child is still nursing, make sure you take care. If not breastfeeding, give a bottle of drink (milk, water, juice - not applicable) or a pacifier. Baby formula is fine to take with you, and you are not limited to the amount you can carry on board with us, do not worry. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/formula.shtm New regulations allow you to take beverages (including water) from home, provided they have less than 3 oz, or beverages (including water) of any size that you have purchased from inside the security area in the aircraft. You can also bring a limited amount of baby food on the plane with you. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm # 10 Save your money when it comes to buying water, because although delegates / stewardess' will provide warm or cold water (or any other drink) free at any time you request, no matter how many times you request it. Another trick is that if your child is not taking to the pacifier or the desire to drink, gently rub the neck from the chin to the chest several times - this will cause a swallowing motion that will help the ears pop. 3.) Be sure to pack a lot of things to entertain your child. Some of his favorite toys, books, and any comfort things such as a blanket. Fa-La will also provide a coloring book or toys his son also. 4.) Pack a few instant hot / cold cereals, instant rice, and other packages just add water (Suitable for age, course). Monitors / stewardess' will provide warm or cold water upon request. You can also bring a limited amount of baby food and some other non-perishable snack items. Drinks will be provided free at any time you request, no matter how many times you request. 5.) Ensure to pack 2-3 changes of clothes for your child. You need this in case you get sick, spills something on himself, or in case your luggage gets lost. Also lead all medicines you may need for it in case you become ill. Do NOT give the medicine to the child in the hope that doing to sleep. This is not only cruel, but also dangerous. 6.) Last but not least, if help is offered to you, it's taken. Hope you have a great trip, and if I can be of some help again please do not hesitate to contact me
