Reorganizing Technical Support website?
I've been tasked with the project of reorganizing my companies messy, out-of-date support website. We provide a content management system to travel agents, and the platform has changed over the years (go figure the help documentation would need to update along with it). I'm not a big fan of reinventing the wheel, so I have been looking at help sections of sites like Network Solutions and Dotster. The open source CMS help documents are pretty scattered and are only helpful if you have a search box.
So I guess my question is, where do I start? I have a degree in Graphic Design, so my first impulse is to review some Informational Design or Instructional Design help. Maybe there is a "best way" to organize help documentation. Are there other (better) websites that have easy to navigate, well organized support sections?
