Travel Ecuador Safety

What are the safest Latin American countries to study Spanish?
I am planning to attend a program of study tours by month. The destinations I have to choose from are as follows: "Argentina: Buenos Aires, Cσrdoba, Bariloche, Mendoza Bolivia: Sucre Chile: Santiago de Chile and Costa Rica: Flamingo Beach Heredia Monteverde Cuba: Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Trinidad and Ecuador: Quito Guatemala: Antigua Mexico: Guanajuato Playa del Carmen, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta Peru: Cuzco-the Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo. I'm going to be provided accommodation in a host family, but I'm still concerned about the safety of my Spanish is less than primary school, I am a pale white girl of 19 years (the ideal victim!), and I go by myself! Which of these destinations are the safest? I'm looking for a small town, except for a beach, is there anything like that between these places? I was told to go to Costa Rica (Playa Flamingo) is safe? Thanks for your time!
Costa Rica is by far the safest Latin American country to learn Spanish. While all the aforementioned destinations within the country are safe, Heredia, probably would be best. Not for security but for the location. Heredia has a central location near the same distance from various ecotourism sites. Playa Flamingo is all right, but I have found from experience that, while in a beach town may sound like a good idea at first, if you are going to be there a couple of weeks or more, which can be a bit boring. I'm actually returning to Costa Rica later this year. Good luck!
