Female traveling to Cairo, Egypt first time...?
I am traveling to Cairo, Egypt this spring for a four day vacation. Being my first time in Egypt, let alone Africa, what should I expect upon arriving there? I am curious in all specific details, whether that be some of the city's characteristics (good or bad), treatment towards Americans, fun activities I should do, the weather (I am traveling at the end of Feb), etc...
Also, what is a good hotel to stay in?
Since it is the first time for you to visit Egypt, it is better for you to do it through a travel agency. Let them book everything for you, this way you will be picked up from the airport and you will be escorted during your stay. This will save you much time and money.
You will be welcomed by all, will find people kind and hepfull.
It will be still winter but a mild one. Sunny warm mornings with about 20 degrees and cool evenings with about 10 degrees.
The four Seasons hotel, the Grand Hayyat hotel and the Nile Hilton are very good and are conveniently located. If you need more details just ask again. Enjoy it.
