how to write a business letter?
I am European and English is not my native language. This year I'll be traveling to the USA to film some hotel reviews. On the websites of these hotels they instruct me to write a letter asking for media access.
Can anyone tell me if the following is going to work, and if not, help me to improve the letter?
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inquire about the possibility to shoot video footage inside your hotel between August 14th and October 15th 2010.
Our goal is to create a professional video review of the hotel in high definition quality (HD). The final clip will be shown on our video review website [title] [url] as well as the social network platforms Youtube and Facebook.
Our main focus will be the rooms and restaurants, but in order to create a proper review, we would like to have access to the entire premises.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
[name]
I think that sounds great. The one thing you left out is how you'd like them to respond. If you want them to sign a release of some kind, you will need to include that release and add a paragraph asking them to sign it and return it.
If you need a letter frrom them, then ask for that.
In short, it looks great, but you did not tell them how to provide their approval to you.
