If I bought a gift card in Canada, would I be able to use it in the US?
I am planning to get a gift card for my cousin as a gift for Christmas. I am traveling to California. I am currently living in Canada, so if I bought the gift card in Canada, would my cousin be able to use it in California?

I just spoke to Best Buy customer service about using a US-purchased gift card in Canada, and they said NO.
Their reason is currency difference.
I don't know if that is any different anywhere else.
I might try Visa gift cards instead.
