Does anyone know how to get travel insurance once you are already trevelling?

I am a Uk citizen who has been in china for 5 months, i have decided to travel longer and the insurance policy i have is going to expire. What companies offer insurance if you are already travelling. Most of the ones i've looked at require you to be in the UK and departing once the policy starts.
