Travel Insurance Medical Coverage

Do Canada's hospitals accept US patients with travel insurance?
I found Medex Travel Abroad which charges only $4 per day and it claims I get up to $100,000 of coverage with deductible of $25 for medical accidents.
Is there a catch to Medex travel? If I need a doctor in Canada as a traveler and I need a $50,000 operations I'll only be charged $25? Or am I likely reading the policy incorrectly?
No I'm not counting on having to file a claim. I'm just a bit surprised that the policy charges so little that I wonder if there are limits to coverage I'm not seeing. I should call them like you said.
I would have no idea what your policy states and if you have any questions you should call the company but I can state that if you are visiting Canada and need medical care, any sort of travel insurance would most likely be honoured up here. If nothing else they will reimburse you for any care you received.
Although I am Canadian I was living out of the country for a few years due to work and I didn't have any Canadian health coverage, just secondary insurance like Blue Cross. Anyway, my wife came back to Canada to give birth to our middle child and the baby had to be in the NICU for two weeks after delivery. Even with Blue Cross we only got a bill for $10 at the end of it all. Blue Cross covered the $146k the NICU and delivery cost. The $10 was for 1 day of TV my wife had in the hospital that wasn't covered by the insurance.
Just keep in mind too that if you come to Canada with a preexisting medical condition planning on getting surgery you will most likely not be able to unless it is an emergency since these things need to be booked and planned for. Also, even if it was an emergency your insurance company may still question you and could refuse to pay if they suspect you may be trying to do something funny. I'm NOT saying you would, just tossing it out there for consideration.
