Travel Korea Package
travelling to South Korea?
I'm planning to go on trip to South Korea in 2012, with my sister.. we're considering an unplanned trip, you know, by not going with travel packages. is it expensive to travel like that in S.Korea? if so,what is the best way to travel there? because we opted for cheaper trip,n we want to experience the culture and the people..and oh yes, when is the best time to go?since we're planning to go to BIG BANG BIG SHOW as well:D n any additional information will be great:)
Im from Philippines and staying here in Korea for almost 20 years.
My advises are: Traveling around in Korea was fine just like everywhere else.Not much dangerous for foreigners like you on its first time.They are not really hospitable to foreign people.It depends on your itenerary,if you like to see the old culture then you have to go in the country side.Beware of Itaewon,its the foreign district located in Seoul.Most of the Koreans here speak english but they always try to take advantage to foreigners buy offering stuufs to buy or place to hang out.
Most of them dont speak english very well,so I advice you to atleast study basic korean language and hangul (korean writing) because some of their billboards ,bus or public displays was written in Korean.Dont forget to bow your heads in greetings and saying thanks.
