People enjoy negative press and it not ony travels faster than positive, but is remembered longer. The same is true for lies v truth.
Sadly, yes, I think it's a solid point. And, the more fantastic the lie, the faster it seems to move; conversely, the more fantastic the lie, the slower the truth to remedy it seems to move.
