Travel Spain By Bus

What equipment to travel Europe with?
I am going to be traveling all over Europe(From England to Spain to Turkey to the Czech Rep) by myself from Feb-Aug, and I am wondering what kinds of bags/backpacks/maps/moneybelts would be my best bet. I'm a 20-year-old male, so I can tote a heftier bag, I just don't know what would be the most efficient for getting around on train/bus/plane/bike and maximize carrying space. Also, are there any random things that people wished they had brought on their travels but didn't even think of it before leaving? It's the practical day-to-day stuff I'm askin about. Thanks!
Bring as little as you can. Best is to take less than you are allowed as carry on luggage on a plane.
Yes, you will miss things you might have wanted, but on the other hand, if you bring everything but the kitchen sink, you will not be able to move around.
You will be looking for left luggage offices and luggage lockers all the time.
Most important is passport, money and a way to get at more money, and if you have a credit card, bring it, if you do not have one, try to get a MasterCard or Visa card.
Travel insurance. And if you plan on using a train pass, you will need to get it before you cross the ocean.
I find that a thin pouch that sit in the top of your jeans is the easiest, it will have a belt that goes round your waist. You can get them in waterproof too.
Camera with spare memory cards, charger and plug adapter (try to avoid needing a convertor, as those are way more heavy.)
Telephone with charger.
Travel guidebook. I prefer the Lonely Planet series, but there are more good ones.
Send yourself a list of addresses on an e-mail address where you keep your mail on-line, but also bring a paper version with you.
Couple of jeans, shorts, T-shirts, sweater, shirt.
Socks, underwear, sandals or flip-flops, hiking boots.
Swim shorts, small towel, (either a super compact one from the specialist travel store, or a tea towel.)
If are a little shy, sharing dorm space will be easier with night wear, but most people will sleep in shorts and/or underwear and T-shirt.
And remember that on national holidays and in July and August you will need to make advance reservations in Europe, but you can mostly make them by phone in the morning of the day you plan to arrive, or by internet a few days before. You will most likely have less choice if you wait that long, but you will have the full freedom.
