Should my fiance and I get married before he leaves for basic training in the army?

My fiance is leaving for basic training in the army january 3rd. After basic training he'll be going to advanced training. Then after that he could be sent anywhere of course. One of the reasons for us getting married so young, we're both 18 but have been together for 6 years now, is because he wants me to come with him and live on bases with him. In order to travel with him do you have to have papers or something way ahead of time? We were thinking if he gets sent somewhere overseas like germany or belgium or italy or something, that we'd just get eloped over his homebreak. But, I'm not sure if that will even work. I know i have to get a passport ahead of time which i'm working on now just in case but I'm just confused on what we should do. I spoke to a recruiter and he said the best bet would be get married before basic training but that is really soon. Like how does this all work?

Okay first of all you don't really get any extra money while he is in boot camp. You don't get housing allowance. Why don't you plan your wedding during his leave after boot camp? Then you will have more time to plan the wedding you want. As far as your age, marrige is hard....its hard at any age. I married at 20 after being together almost 6 years and my husband enlisted when I was 21. Being a military wife adds much more stress to a marrige than most cilivian marriages. Being a military, you will learn to become very independent and you will figure out all military system as you go. Ask questions and be a good listener and you will do well as a military spouse. Oh, and we have been happily married for 5 years now and going through our 2nd depolyment! Good luck!
