What should be the optimum weight of a tripod?
What should be the optimum weight of a travel tripod for a D90 with a 200mm zoom lens so that it does not get tipped off due to the change in centre of gravity or in winds.
BTW I always use the neck strap. So no problem for the tipping stuff - but I am eager to know.
There's an optium weight, but it depends on some many factors of where the centre of mass of the camera lies and any external forces that apply, that's it's easier to say just get a decent tripod and ball head and hang weights from it.
