Travel Wallet Passport
If someone has an expired passport can it be used with acurrent picture to travel on airlines?
If someone has recently lost wallet with all identifcation in it, what can he do to obtain some type of documentation to travel the airlines for job related purposes?
In spite of the answers concerning domestic flights and the need for ID, there's a VERY good chance you'll be denied boarding with an expired passport . . . even if you can prove it's you.
TSA policies are well and fine; but in the end, it will come down to the decision of just ONE person: The initial TSA employee you encounter when you approach security. If s/he doesn't notice that your passport is expired, then you're golden. If s/he does notice, however, and decided not to let you pass, then you will not get on your flight. There may well be alternative protocols to establish identity, but if the screener doesn't know of them, it won't matter.
Do yourself a favor and get an alternate form of identification.
